rickdeni Posted June 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2011 We are 2 seniors who need a hotel for 1 night pre-cruise (Oct. 21st) to Hawaii. If possible, we would like the hotel to have a continental breakfast and a free shuttle to the port. We can pass on the breakfast but need transportation to the port. Walking is not an option. Thanks for your help.
SadieN Posted June 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2011 Can't help with a hotel but San Diego is very compact. Taxi fare won't be expensive at all (approx $10) if the hotel doesn't have a free shuttle. Check this list. http://www.sandiego.org/article/Visitors/
Rare JamesEM Posted June 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2011 This past Jan we stayed at the Best Western by Liberty Station, for a budget hotel it was great. They had free pick up from the air port, free shuttle to the pier, and free breakfast. You are within walking distance/very short cab ride to stores, shops, and place eat. riffatsea Posted June 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2011 The Holiday Inn San Diego ON the bay is right across the street from the cruise terminal. The Holiday Inn Express/old town now known as the Mission Inn is very nice and will pick you up from airport or train station for free and drop you at the cruiseport. They also have free breakfast. http://www.hioldtownhotel.com/
Splinter Posted June 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2011 I believe the Best Western Seven Seas (in Mission Valley) also offers a free airport and pier shuttle.

Northshorecruisers Posted June 15, 2011 #7 Share Posted June 15, 2011 We have always stayed at the Holiday Inn on the Bay. They have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel and hotel to cruise terminal. If you want the shuttle to the cruise port be sure to book early. We have always done the walk across the street and down a bit to get to the terminal - it's not long but if you're trying to wheel a lot of luggage - it can be draining. It's just become a cruise tradition for us. HI on the Bay might be pricer than some hotels around, but we've found for 1 night we enjoy it. The restaurant off the lobby (Elephant & Castle) has good food at a decent price for the area and is a frequent meeting place of people from the roll calls the night before. There's also Anthony's Wharf across the street and a Ruth Chris next door. Last time we were there, we spent a night post cruise at a hotel in Mission Valley. Even though we were told they did free shuttles from the cruiseport, when I called they said they couldn't do "free" because it was out of the area allowed by taxi rules. So, we had to cab it. sharonh1885 Posted June 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted June 18, 2011 Hampton Inn has a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you back up after the cruise if you like.
