Cruise vs. Self Contracted Air Charges

FYI - I recently cancelled my cruise contracted airfare and transfers with RCI from Houston.

 

I booked my own airfare with one stop each way with America West (or is it America Worst - I'll find out). Continental's non-stop flights leave Vancouver too early to catch so I couldn't get a non-stop anyway.

 

I added one day/night stay at the Ramada Inn Downtown with free airport and train shuttle, train transportation to Seward for two, and a six hour Kenai Fjords Tour for two (without any discounts) and I am still saving $125/couple!!!!!
