Leaving on pride in 5 days any tips.

We had your time dining last month on Pride and loved it! The first elegant night we had to wait about half an hour for a table but the next day, there was a plate of goodies in our cabin from the dining room hostess apologizing for the delay in seating us.. :D I guess since it was "lobster tail" night, more people showed up than what they normally have on a regular night for dinner.

 

We always asked for a two top or four top table and got our two top every night except one. We were normally seated within minutes and found the service to be good. We had different waiters each night but no complaints..some were better than others but overall, it was fine.

 

We like eating around 7:00 and found that time worked well for us :)

We are leaving on 7/3. Do you know which outside decks are designated for smokers? I would like to avoid them when I sit to read my book. I guess that would be somewhere on deck 3??

There are no chairs outside on the promanade deck

 

Anytime dining- if you want to pick your time and be seated with different waiters each night that is what you book.

I tried it one carnival cruise and did not care for it. We were always being seated at the middle section of a 6 person table. Very uncomfortable for us.

 

I like my waiters to know me and my preferences- it makes the cruise more special

I am assuming that they have a main dish each night but other options as well am I right?

you will have more then one choice- you can mix and match your starters with main entree/

 

what you can not do is mix the sides of one dish for another.

example:

the pork ribs come with corn but you prefer green pea fondu- you will have to order both of the dishes in order to get the preferred sides

You can also eat at the buffet if you choose not to go to the main dining room, and there's always room service and 24 hour pizza! You will definitely not go hungry ;)

I also suggest that at each dinner you order something that you never ever tried before-- just to taste it.- share it with your cruising buddy.

 

We did this with the chilled soups every evening- wow is what I say.

 

In all my cruises I never tried the chicken tenders (the first night) thinking they were on par with McDonalds chicken nuggets.

Well got them last cruise and sorry I never got them before- they were that good and the honey mustard dipping sauce was home made. oooo it was soooo yummy

That last call to get off is 10:30 on the 26th I believe and New passangers can board as early as 1:30 I hear. Dont worry I heard the maid service is top nouch!!!! :) Have an awsome time I know I will have you been on a cruise before?;)

People watch- sorry =- yes you can tell first time cruisers.

When sitting on the lido deck and the little waiter has a tray full of drinks. That waiter will ask people if they want a drink - people think its free so they take one--- and then the waiter asks for the sign and sail card the looks on the faces--priceless.

 

and they take pictures of everything-- I love it.

 

(a ride in the glass elevators-- but be careful because on the pride is alot of nude statues and paintings. (davids is on the highest leval)

As a previous "tipster",,,,,,,,,,,,leave it clean and lots of food,,,as we will be boarding as you are leaving!!! I hope the week doesn't go by too fast for you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but flys by for us so we can SAIL AWAY!!! I also recommend "behind the scenes tour". Did it last year on the Glory and absolutely loved it.:o

Sunday is only 2 more days away yet it seems like the days are draging on but then once you're on a vactation SNAP you're done:D Does anyone have any other helpful tips and also does anyone know the price of the behind the scenes tour I cant seem to pull it up on my computer:confused:

I remember sailing the Victory and they had the lounge chairs out there- Very nice= relaxing- quiet. But the area is now muster stations so you will not find chairs out= there.

Just returned from the Pride last Sunday.....my biggest and best Pre-Cruise tip? REMEMBER to put your packed suitcase IN the car! We meet a couple that drove from Philly to Baltimore and when they ARRIVED at the port her husband realized that he FORGOT to put his wifes suitcase in the car!!!! :eek: She was a great sport about the whole thing and didn't let it impact her good time!
