Torshavn

Hello! We are going to be having a day in Torshavn in a few weeks, just wondering if anyone had a suggestion on what to do there. Ideally I would like to get out of the town for a bit and see the countryside, scenery etc. Kirkjubøur looks interesting but I'm not sure if we'd be able to get out there. Has anyone hired a taxi or private tour of some sort?

When we were there, there were cabs waiting to take people on tours. We saw just about everything listed in our shore excursion book by just riding around in the cab -- grass topped building; churches; and Viking dwellings.
