Conquest Question: Which Deck/Room Type would you choose?

We would like to get two rooms that connect together with an interior door. The only way it appears we can do this on the Conquest is to do two ocean view rooms on deck 2 (main) or two interior rooms on deck 6 (upper). Which would you choose?

All else being equal we would prefer a room with a view to an interior room and don't really mind being on a lower deck, which suggests going for deck 2. But we will need to get the kids up to deck 12 where camp carnival is located, and get to deck 9 (lido) where pool and buffet seem to be fairly often, and we would not be able to walk from deck 2. We like to take the stairs and not wait for elevators. Granted, we would probably need the elevators to get from deck 6 to deck 12 for camp carnival, but 6 to 9 would be walkable.

In case this factors in, the room on deck 2 would be under the shore excursion area in the lobby on deck 3. The rooms on deck 6 seem to be above the casino on deck 5 (but under other rooms on deck 7).

Finally, there do seem to be maybe 4 balcony rooms on the spa deck (deck 11) that connect to other balcony rooms but I don't think we are eligible for these because we would have 2 people in each room, whereas each of the spa-deck rooms are for 4 people. Is that right? Otherwise, these would seem to be the perfect solution.

Thanks for any analysis you can offer!

I'm going to second the noise issues on deck 6, on the Conquest: We book the aft-wraps on deck 6, but would never consider another cabin due to the possibility of loud noise(s) from below.

I would prefer the oceanview due to the view. I have stayed on deck 6 of the Conquest in a balcony room. We were over the Promenade area and never heard a thing, but the casino I am not sure if you would hear anything!! I would book that cabin again in a heart beat. Very convienent to everything! When we go in a few weeks I am staying in an ocean view on the main deck (trying to save $$$$). Not worried at all about waiting for elevators. In fact when we cruised a couple of years ago on the Freedom of the Seas (Royal Caribbean-a lot bigger ship) I stayed on deck 2 and rode the elevators A LOT and never waited too long! If you really want the cabins on deck 11 I would call Carnival and check to see if you could book them.

Been on conquest multiple times great ship however we always have a balcony but learned never to stay under the lido. chairs moving up there is really noticeable and I just didn't care for it. My only complaint which isn't all that bad. I couldn't cruise without at least a window but prefer a balcony I think we get our monies worth on one. Just a personal opinion though.

I would be tempted by one balcony for 4 people if the kids are small, so you have the balcony to get away from each other in. The spa has showers if more than one person needs to shower, and you would be closer to things that you said is important to you.

Deck 2 is just fine and you have 3 different banks of elevators you can use. IMO I would just go with whatever is cheaper. You are honestly never in the room.

FYI the elevators and stair banks do not go to deck 12 for the kids area. You have to got up to deck 11 in the front then take the stairs by the spa on the side up to 12.

Been on both Conquest and Liberty same deck plans for both ships, had a lido deck balcony and a deck 7 balcony suite both mid ship. I preferred the lido deck but the suite is great too.

with mid ship you can take the elevators up or down with out walking half the ship to an elevators

We are a family of 4 and had 2 oceanview connecting rooms on the Riviera deck of the Conquest. That is the deck below Main. I highly recommend this option. We totally loved the inside connecting doors. The location was quiet and low in the ship so you don't feel as much motion. None of us had any problem with the distances to food or activities. The elevators were fast. The windows in the OV rooms were large picture windows and the kids could even sit in them to look out. Also, an advantage of the lower decks is that you are very close to the level where you get off the ship in port. I think that you can often open the dividers connecting the balconies in adjacent balcony rooms, but we were not really comfortable with the children going back and forth that way.

I second and third that!!! we were right under the area where they serve breakfast. Every morning, all we heard was constant grinding from the chairs being moved above us as people came and went to get breakfast. Not good when you are late-nighters and late-risers like us.
