carnival and Rccl which one is better

Lots of times after midnight carnival is dead too.

Both depend on the mix of pax on that particular ship. No one can tell you ahead of time your ship with have a active night life for sure.

I am often out walking around the ship past midnight and lots of ships are dead in the wee hours Im up.

I got perturbed with Royal Caribbean about 25 years ago. This was because of a corporate attitude which I found more than offensive. I still feel that way. If given a Royal Caribbean cruise free, I would think long and hard about accepting it. I really dislike their corporate mind set.

I have been happy enough with Carnival to keep spending money there. And, despite what people tell you, we have never seen anyone totally offensive on a Carnival cruise. Well, there was that Russian mob lawyer from Brighton Beach who got in an argument over saving seats, but he and his wife were put off in the next port.

Even if you had a bad feedback 25 years ago or what and just want to spout off about it.

.. the way I read the question is about the nightlife.... how is the nightlife after midnight on carnival.

Just trying to get things back on subject before this gets hijacked totally

i am planning to take a cruise i been on rccl 2 twice it was ok after 1200 am everything is dead,i will like to know how is carniavl,i am planning to the carnival liberty

Do you have a particular time of year you are looking at....and a ship? It might give us a better idea of what type of cruisemates you'll end up with and how active the nightlife might be.

We were on the Carnival Liberty a few weeks ago. Enjoyed it very much. We cruise both RCCL and Carnival. There are pros and cons to both for us. We go first for the ports and then the ship. Never had a disapointing cruise on either.

As for which line is better....RCCL, hands down, if you have the money. If you have any questions about the Carnival Liberty, just disembarked 2 days ago. Great ship (planning on going on her again in May 2013), partying runs longer than I care for but I'm a sound sleeper so I just sleep through the noise anyway.

Night life, even after midnight is great on Carnival ships. You'll have a great time. The sidewalks don't roll up after midnight like other lines.

Wow i thought the same thing on a RCCL cruise. We went on a Western Carib run on RCCL and everything closed up after midnight including the casino! the only place open was disco. no piano bar, karaoke etc.

I also didn't like the fact that the pizza bar was not 24 hours either.

Usually RCCL is more expensive and I cant for the life of me figure out the cost difference. the best value for my dollar is Carnival.

BTW it was our last RCCL cruise.

It depends which ships you have been on as well. Carnival doesn't have a lot of the stuff that Royal has, but, they do try to make everyone have a fun experience. Like others have said, it depends on the pax mix as to night life aboard ship. We have never had a problem on the nights we have stayed up late.

Hands down, I don't think so. The truth of the matter, imho and in the opinion of a lot of others, is that Carnival, Royal, NCL and Princess are more alike than different. Each has an area where they are better than the others. Lots of people say Carnivals cabins are bigger and their beds are more comfortable. Some say Royals buffet and soups are better. Some say NCL's ships are better and some say Princess is more elegant. It's all up to each individual. What I think is important you may not and vicea versa. My DW and I have been on all four of these lines and have only had one bad cruise. It doesn't matter which was our bad one, the point is they are all good in their own way. Carnival is number one in the industry, so they are doing something right.

Better is a relative term and is really based on your preferences. There's a give and take to each choice (just like with just about every product or other choice in life). You just have to figure out which line matches you better.

We have been on two Carnival cruises and last year, went on RCL's Liberty of the Seas. I wrote a review on all our cruises. While I have not been on as many cruises as alot of people on this board, here is what we found:

1. Price - Carnival wins hands down

2. Room - Again Carnival wins for comfort and size

3. Food - Carnival wins in our book. We ate at two of the specialty restaurants on LOS, and neither one of them had the atmosphere, service, or food presentation that Carnival did.

4. Service - both were great

5. Amenities - okay, here is where RCL wins. More shops and more "extra" things such as the Flowrider, rock climbing wall, etc.

All in all, we like Carnival, but are not opposed to going on RCL again if the price is right.

One other thing to consider is the itineraries ... how many sea days does their typical itinerary have (or the specific cruise you're considering) and which ports does each cruise line go to and what time/how much time are they at that port. I've only been on RCCL so far and a big reason for that was that for my taste, RCCL has the edge with their itineraries. There's a big difference between being at a port from 4pm - 11pm and being at that same port from 8am - 4pm... or getting only a few hours somewhere vs the better part of a day... or having more port days than sea days vs the opposite. Reading through comparable length/location cruises, Carnival seemed to have more where the number of ports visited, port choices, and/or in-port times were not as ideal. This is solely my opinion based on my preferences though. Yours may vary... just another factor to consider.
