An idea for Paris - Can this be done?

Yes, it's possible. Although I have never done it, others on our roll calls have done it successfully.

You'll need to contact your cruise line to tell then what you want to do as you will need their permission. As always, it's up to you to get to the second port.

You'll need to have a backup plan if, for some reason, the ship does not make the port call in Cherbourg. Find out the cruise line's port agent and contact information for Cherbourg as well as the following port in the event you are not able to meet the ship or the ship skips the port.

Is it possible to do an overnight in Paris if a ship docks in both Le Havre and Cherbourg? It looks like there are several trains that run between the two cities.

You can probably do that, but you will be wasting a lot of time traveling, not to mention the extra expenses.

There is a lot to see on coastal France, Mont St. Michel, Normandy WWII beaches and more. Paris is a great city, but really demands more than a day.
