athena73 Posted July 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2011 Hi all! We will be in Roatan on the Dream in February. I am trying to get some ideas of what to do. My mom has some minor mobility issues that I have to take into account when planning. I was looking at tours through Victor Bodden (sp?) as well as excursions through Carnival. It is my understanding that only tour operators doing Carnival excursions are allowed near the pier and that there is a bit of a walk (a hill?) to where you can find the non-cruise tour operators. How bad is that walk? Thanks!
Snorkel2Much Posted July 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2011 There is a $2 cab ride offered to get "over the hill" to where the outside vendors are located.
lovevacadays Posted July 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2011 That $2 cab ride to the top of the hill is well worth the price for the ability to do a Victor Bodden tour. We loved touring with his guide Tex when we were there.

We loved touring with his guide Tex when we were there. Just be aware that the $2 cab ride doesn't start directly at teh pier and there is a long up ramp/walk from the Dufry shop to the taxi stand. It's not as steep as "the hill" but is longer in distance. I've seen wheelchair bound passengers struggling up it, especially when it's hot.
