Multi generation family cruise

We are planning a cruise in Jan 2013 for ourselves, our adult children, their spouses (4 in total) and 4 grandchildren ages 18 months to 10years. We are considering NCL Epic or Carnival's newest ship the Breezes. How do the two lines compare for children's activities and family accomodation. We are looking for balcony cabins. Thanks

Carnival accepts kids at 2 for their kids programs. My understanding is that the child does not need to be potty trained.

On all lines, with one or two exceptions on certain ships, do not allow diapered, non-pottytrained children in the pools or water zones.

Epic has a splsh zone for children in swim diapers. Carnival's latest, the Dream does not. I do not know if Breezes will or not. 18 months IMO a child will want to get wet.

We LOVED the Epic. We traveled with a group ages 3-72 years old. Most of those over 50 did not care for the ship. I think the entertainment and atmosphere of the ship is not as traditional as they are used to. We definately will do the EPIC again in the future - too much to do in just 1 week.
