We are sailing on the Allure on November 2nd and was wondering if captain Johnny will be there?

We sailed the Mariner in 06 and really enjoyed hearing his "good morning good morning good morning" every day. . Thanx

Captain Johnny signed on Allure on sunday, so if he follows the usual schedule he will sign off 1 week before your cruise unfortunately.

I would like to point out that Captn James McDonald has not started his rotation on the Explorer yet. Currently we have Captn Rick Sullivan on the 8/14/14 cruise. He goes on vacation at the end of this cruise and returns on Nov 1 for the repositioning.

Sounds like Captain Rick will be our captain on our 12-4-2014 EX cruise from Port C. What is he like? We have never sailed with him although we have sailed with Captain James 3 or 4 times.

Had Captain Rick on Monarch a few times. Very nice gentleman, Canadian I believe. Told some interesting stories at the Captain's Corner. It will be good to see him again.

Captain Rick is our favorite. He is funny, warm, visible and the crew adore him. Our stateroom attendant told us in May that they felt as if their father had left when he changed ships. And yes, he alternated with Captain Rob, who we also saw only fleetingly on our Honolulu to Vancouver transit.

I'm just adding to the many fine things being said about Captain Rick -- we think the world of him. Always visible, gracious, excellent captain. (He got us successfully through the fishing net situation on RH last year.) It looks as though we will just miss him on Explorer. :(
