drfun48 Posted July 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2011 Has Celebrity been charging the fuel surcharge ? It is still listed as an option for them on their website with the current oil price.
Gonzo70 Posted July 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2011 No fuel surcharge recently. They still reserve the right to implement one, but it is unlikely they would unless oil spikes at least $20-$25 over where it is now.

Orator Posted July 8, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2011 They've had enough time to hedge and build it into the price. This might, at least in part, account for some of the higher prices this year.
JezzaC Posted July 8, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 8, 2011 Seems that fuel supplement is only possible for US reservations based on their website. "For US reservations, Celebrity Cruises reserves the right to impose a fuel supplement on all guests if the price of West Texas Intermediate fuel exceeds $65.00 per barrel. The fuel supplement for 1st and 2nd guests would be no more than $10 per guest per day, to a maximum of $140 per cruise; and for additional guests would be no more than $5 per person per day, to a maximum of $70 per cruise." FYI you might be looking at Celebrity's U.S. website, hence the U.S. policy regarding fuel surcharges. It does not mean other countries would not potentially face fuel surcharges if sailing with Celebrity.
