I did hear back and there are no guarantees for day passes. But with the info you provided, I see the beaches are all public and you can order drinks so we should be ok. Would have liked to have a reservation but alas no...so I will have the old stand by PLAN B.

You are a wealth of information!

Nowadays there are vendors renting chaises and umbrellas all along Palm beach. MoomBa, located between the Holiday Inn and Marriott Surf Club is easy because everything- food, drinks, chaises, shade and restrooms are all right there.

On our recent stay at the Radisson, you needed a room key to use the restroom closest to the beach. I do not know how they work that for folks purchasing day passes.

I don't see the benefit of a day pass. The likelihood of getting any shaded area (hut) on the beach at most places is slim to none. If you want a nice pool then the day pass is the way to go.

If you are hanging out on the beach then the prior posts identify many places to chose from where you can rent a chair and umbrella on the beach. While some hotel pool bathrooms may be locked off you should not have any problem in using the bathroom in the lobby.

I believe that the going rate for a chair/umbrella is about $10 each for the day.

There are four of us and we would like to be able to use the casino, pool and book a massage for the Radisson, so the day pass seemed the way to go for us. It just isn't the beach we are looking at. But thank you for the

price on the chair/umbrella. :)

Has anyone had any recent experience and know if the day pass would include the chair/umbrella or if that is purchased separately?

No recent experience on the day pass, but from what previous posters have stated, the day pass included chaise and palapa.

We are a family of three and at the Radisson can "just" barely fit 3 chaises under one palapa.

If you are paying for four day passes, I would like to think that they are going to allot you two palapas. Downside is that the palapas are NOT one on top of the other

bchaj_sm.jpg and are preassigned the day before to hotel guests so you would get the bottom of the barrel so to speak.

I would

1. have a plan "b" and

2. get to the Radisson as soon as you can get off the ship.

you do not need a day pass for the casino or to book a massage.

the day pass is for a chair/palapa and use of the pool.

when are you going?

Dec 2011 we will be there, and yes we want the whole package. One last day of relaxation and fun before our sea days headed home.

My GF and I will be in Aruba on 9-10-2011, serene56 will get in a day after us. I will ask about day passes, we will be at the Occidental, this is all inclusive hotel.

Radisson is nicer..

Shame you will be there the 10th. I own at the occidental. Its 95.00pp per day for the AI.

Radisson is less then 20 for the chair/palapa. No food or drinks.

We have been going during this week for the past few years- you will find the beach all to your self.

I have pictures of the radisson beach at noon-- wondering where are all the people.. and wondering about what people were saying about getting a palapa.

I have a friend who just phoned the following Palm beach resorts for day pass pricing.

All prices are per person:

Occidental is 9 am -5 pm $77.00

RUI is 10 am - 10 pm $105.00

Radisson All Inclusive $75.00

Radisson including towel & palapa only $19

It may be a different price for t/s owners vs. someone who purchases a day pass. Remember the day pass for $77 is only for use 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. so you probably would not be eating dinner at that hour. ;)

Either way, I am positive, that chaises and shade are first come, first served.

serene56, it is a shame that my GF and I will be in Aruba?

it will be a shame you are there on the 10th instead of the 11th.

If you arrived on the 11th I could let you be our guests at the occidental

Oh, I was wondering. Anyway we are looking forward to Aruba.

I can not wait-

we went there by cruise ship a few years ago-- wow.

we took a tour using abc jeep tours- saw everything we needed to see

said-Lets try it as a land vacation the following year instead of a cruise. WOW (no touring although we did a sunset cruise.

Lets go again next year-- we looked at time shares- Occidental was the best one for us-- so we got one- now we go every sept.

3 weeks to go.

Serene56, my TA sent me a text today saying that she got me a $364.00 credit on our Aruba trip. She said it would be taken off of my credit card. I don't know where she got it, but it wouldn't hurt for you to take a look.

Are you going there by cruise or is it a land vacation? We own a time share and spending a week there.

Our price is what it is. Except for airfare that really fljctuates
