Cell Phones/Texting - Verizon

I have Verizon Wireless with unlimited texting. I read somewhere, but cannot confirm, that with a US plan texting in Canada is included in the unlimited US texting plans.

 

Can someone confirm this?

Just curious ~ why you decided to check here versus Verizon?

 

I have verizon and am just assuming that my texts will work because it is north america.

 

I am a bit slow in understanding some things and their explanations of their plans just fly over my head. So I appreciate your asking this here.

You are correct, you will not be charged for text messages while in Canada if you have an unlimited text plan.

We cruised to Canada last fall and I texted my son from St John and from Halifax, we were not charged. I called my Mom and I was charged $0.69 per minute.

 

Just make sure you have international dialing activated on your phone (I-dial) and that you have updated your roaming prior to sailing *228 and choose option 2.
