Prince Rupert suggestions

There is a historic salmon cannery there, the North Pacific Cannery, which is now a national historic site and it is an interesting visit. It can be reached by municipal transit for a fare of $2.50 (CDN) pp each way.

Yes there are a number of tour options in Prince Rupert - you can do Ship tours or book privately.

Prince Rupert is a beautiful little city with lots of history... especially beautiful on a sunny day :):)

You can walk the downtown area viewing many totem poles and the sunken gardens behind the court house and to the museum easily from the ship.

Take a tour to Metlekatla on the mainland a First Nations Village (Prince Rupert is on Kaien Island)

Prince Rupert was a large base during WWII for both Canadian & American troops and it was feared that the Japanese would navigate up the Skeena River to attack from the rear as there were submarine nets across the harbor entrance. Lots more history the above is just a taste.

The Fisheries Museum on the Skeena River as mentioned above is excellent. Bultz Rapids are also reversing falls depending on the tides and that is an excellent hike.

Hope this helps
