Booking a cabin for 3, changing to 2?

Recommended Posts

Wanted to get opinions/advice here before calling Carnival and being sucked into a longer conversation about bookings.

If we book a cabin for 3 on a past guest rate, are we able to cancel one passenger before final payment? Any penalties involved?

We're still trying to figure out whether we want to bring our 4 year old with us next summer. I'd rather book for him and then cancel if need be versus book for just 2 and then have a hard time trying to add him and having to find a cabin that can accommodate 3.

Has anyone had experience with this?

I believe you can cancel a person with the PG rate prior to final payment without penalty. However; they would have the right to move you cabin to a double occupancy room when you do that and at that time your choices may be more limited.

I say take you child. I am one of those people that take my child on vacation. I feel it is important to vacation as a family. Unless it is a short-long weekend for you and spouse I say make it a family affair. I do digress.

You didn't ask but assuming you are good parents (imo) you should leave your 4 year old home and enjoy some time alone. It will be a completely different experience with a small child along vs being alone. With a child along you'll be pre occupied with his/her well being and not be able to do the adult things. I know Camp Carnival is great. And don't feel guilty, wait until the child is older and able to enjoy and remember the experience. Just saying... (let the flames begin)

lol a good parent would leave a 4 year old at home. Iv seen some 4 year olds that know their way around a ship like you would not belive. seasoned travelers.

they love cruising at that age.
