Baxter Posted July 20, 2011 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2011 Can anyone suggest an attractive camera bad for a DSLR and a few lenses. I need something that is a decent size but am having a hard time finding something not boring.
Hoyaheel Posted July 20, 2011 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2011 Well, my husband has lots of boring bags, but a co-worker loves Crumpler - they at least have more color than Lowe:p http://www.crumpler.com/us/Camera-Bags/Camera-Bags.html?LanguageCode=EN That same co-worker also told me about BBP (Bum Backpacks) We both have messenger bag versions, but they have a couple options for DSLRs too: http://www.bbpbags.com/dslrslinger.html

It was less expensive than any in the "Mart" stores and it works great. It has space for my camera, large lense (could hold two), and all my gadgets. It's gone on 2 cruises with me and numerous trips.
HelloMoo Posted July 21, 2011 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2011 I have a Crumpler Pretty Boy bag and I love it. However, I'm not sure they still offer it... :(
5326jan Posted July 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2011 We like this one. http://www.amazon.com/Lowepro-Fastpack-100-Red/dp/B000YIWNUS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1311253660&sr=8-2 It's small enough for me to carry, but holds plenty of gear. Hoyaheel Posted July 21, 2011 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2011 I want to use a very boring bag. I do not want it to attract attention and become a target. A lot of the fun new camera bags don't look like camera bags - I like that. I like that you can also buy inserts and turn lots of other bags into camera bags with appropriate protection. But the key will always be vigilance and awareness - whether you have a basic black bag or something fun in lime:D
Baxter Posted July 21, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted July 21, 2011 I want to use a very boring bag. I do not want it to attract attention and become a target. I hear ya. I don't need it to advertise "expensive camera equipment" but am looking for the protection factor. I have a Dooney and Bourke diaper bag that I am tempted to try inserts in to see if I could make it work. I am not ready to retire that bag...I love it. But am not sure how well the inserts will work in it. Thanks for the suggestions so far. Keep 'em coming :) One I came across yesterday is here: http://kellymoorebag.com/ Pricey, but nice. GORDONCHICK Posted July 21, 2011 #9 Share Posted July 21, 2011 I use inserts in Timbuk2 bags. Plenty of room for camera, 2 lenses, a hood, extra batteries, memory, a P&S, & battery chargers. I don't carry the chargers when out on excursions, but getting to the port I might throw them in there.

Looks like one of their "normal" messengers, but it has the insert to use with your camera stuff. I have a customized TB2 messenger bag (thanks to a Groupon deal last winter) and I'd sure like to have the insert for it!!
