Mariner virtual tour website?

Recommended Posts

I cannot seem to find the thread that had a link to the site with the virtual tours of the RSSC suites...am I missing something or is it gone?

If it's gone, it's because Cruise Critic didn't want a link to a TA's Web site. I don't see a way to PM you the information, unfortunately.

From the Guidelines, which you can click on. It's near the top of each page:

Cruise Critic has strict guidelines prohibiting blatant advertising, commercial sales and solicitation posts on all of our message boards.

Our Cruise Boards are meant to be a cruiser's exchange of advice and tips where cruisers can talk about their travels -- not a marketplace for advertising and selling services. There are thousands of cruise professionals online and if we didn't insist on a non-solicitation policy the cruise boards would be very quickly overrun with nothing but ads.

Cruise Critic defines advertising as an individual or company's attempt to generate business or other commercial enterprise, either directly or indirectly, by using our Cruise Board. Solicitation includes, but is not limited to, requests to be E-mailed, the posting of phone numbers for your business, constantly mentioning that you are in the travel business, and the referring to or posting of one's own Web site address.

There shall be no third-party recommendation of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. General discussions regarding the TYPE of AGENCY to be used to purchase a cruise will be allowed, as long as no recommendations for any source of purchase are posted.

Touting of your personal cruise agent or cruise line "personal cruise consultant" (or any other venue by which you purchase a cruise) is not allowed on our message boards. Postings that contain "tell them John sent you" will be removed without notice.

This means you should not ask about someone's travel agent, nor should you respond in kind. Offering to email someone your travel agent's name or info is also not allowed, nor is asking members to email you for the information.

It also means you cannot post links to travel agencies, no matter what the specific reason.

Cruise Critic will remove violations of the "third-party recommendation" guideline without warning. Additional posts will result in permanent suspension of your posting privileges.

Other Cruise & Travel Sites

Cruise Critic reserves the right to approve or deny links which lead directly to or link to cruise-related material or message boards that are not located within Cruise Critic. Additionally, we respectfully request that you do not use our forums to promote or advertise other cruise-related websites.

The bottom line is: an ad is an ad. So, please no posting of "looking for roommate" type posts, tour shares (except in ROLL CALL threads), giveaways, ebay links, coupon books, coffee cards, etc. etc.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ETA: So even if the purpose was just to look at a virtual tour of Mariner accommodations, it looks like CC won't allow a link in a post. They might do so in a PM, again, if the purpose were not to recommend the site for business purposes. Someone from CC really needs to chime in about this.

Here is another Web site (not a TA Web site) with good pictures of Mariner accommodations, although it's not a virtual tour and the latest photos are from 2008. Still, it gives a very good idea of how the different cabins look.

There are other related links on that web page, including one to the Mariner's common areas, which is really useful because it shows the deck number of those common areas, information which I couldn't seem to find on Regent's Web site. Photos of those common areas are also available.

It seems to have been taken off the board and probably because (and I didn't think of it when I posted it) it takes you onto another travel agency website and CC must view them as competitors.

If you Google "photo tour Regent Seven Seas Mariner" you will find it. That is how I found it! I am not going to post it again and have it taken off again!!

You're very welcome! It sounds, though, that you will see us before we will see you. :D

We're in 1007 and would be happy to meet you and anyone else from CC and elsewhere.

Not a virtual tour but the best I have seen lately is in the following: Go to the USA today website and then go to to Travel and then select cruises. On the right side select Cruise Ship photos and the Select the Mariner from the drop down. Lots and lots of pictures.

Thanks KathyPet -

I tried it and it took me ages to find the right one - anyway here is the link which should make it easier! (Hopefully this will not cause a problem as it is to a newspaper and not a travel agent etc!)

:D Thanks for the link !....We just returned from a 2 week cruise on Crystal Serenity and it is a gorgeous ship......BUT....The Mariner is so very spectacular in it's Art Deco theme that I think someone at Regent should outline a Ship's Tour showing off the pure Art Deco of the Mariner....Seeing those pictures just increases my anxiousness about getting back on board in November for 25 days from Venice to Fort Lauderdale !!!...We survived 2 cruises on Crystal this year and never again...We very much prefer Regent for many reasons and the demographic of the passenger mix is one of the main reasons....Rob.

Hi Jerry, if you go to the site and look at the observation lounge and then the main show lounge you will see what I mean....I have a lot of photos I took one morning when the ship was not busy of the Art Deco interior design of the Mariner. If you wish I will email you some for your viewing. I still have your email address. I am also on the March 18, 2012 sailing with you....The Voyager has some Art Deco design points too but not as much or as well executed in my own view....Rob
