Car Rental-Kona

Hi,

I know that I have read posts about renting cars in Kona @ King Kam hotel.

I tried searching and landed at either Dollar or Budget and entered 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. I keep getting the message that the location is closed at return time.

 

So, if you have rented a car in Kona for the day, how did you do it?

The rental office is only open until noon. They have a drop off box for your keys when you return after hours. Set your return time for the next day at 8 am. It will not cost you any more and you'll return it "early".

There is also Thrifty, which sometimes has different rates from Dollar.

Enterprise now shuttles from the dock, if you want to add the extra time for the pick up/return.

Enterprise may be the best bet.

Enterprise would probably be a last resort if there were no cars at the King Kam available. I would not want to wait around for a shuttle when the King Kam is just a few steps from where the tender drops you off on the pier.

I agree, in Kona, my day is too packed to be waiting for shuttles. :)
