captianjscann Posted August 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2011 So I will be sailing in September and would like to pack a medium size bottle of Jack Daniels to take with me and drink in my state room. If I pack the bottle into my checked suitcase do you think I should be okay? Thanks
Cruisingzs Posted August 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2011 Nope, Carnival xrays the luggage and are particular looking for liquids in your lugage. This is a much discussed topic. Be prepared ;)

CruiseCriticDirector Posted August 6, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2011 Except as noted below, Guests are prohibited from bringing alcohol on Carnival's vessels for on board consumption. All alcohol, additional quantities of wine/champagne and excessive non-alcoholic beverages will be confiscated and discarded without compensation. Save yourself the hassle and worry and order your bottle from Bon Voyage.

Thanks Bring on several small bottles (200ML) is my advice packed tight around other items. 35 cruises and have never been caught and I don't use rum runners. Panelope Barnabus Posted August 7, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 7, 2011 I agree, you never know... I did cruise with someone who packed a bottle in their suitcase earlier in the summer and it did get taken up. Have a fun cruise! :)
Rare mexicobob Posted August 7, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 7, 2011 Be advised that a broken bottle makes a very big mess. Will also seep down to the suitcases below yours. Please wrap it in several zip locks. MexicoBob
Socref124 Posted August 7, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2011 Carnival has really been cracking down lately. Chances are your "Jack" will not be on the cruise with you. Besides, if someone has a really good way they will not mention it here as the "beards" at Carnival read cruise critic and will let their security dept know where to start checking.
