JFK-Manhattan-Cape Liberty

What's the feasibility of flying in to JFK, then staying in Manhattan for a few days and then proceeding to Bayonne (Cape Liberty)? We would have to take a car service to the port because public transportation to the port is not feasible due to the excessive amount of luggage that my deems necessary. My question really boils down to the distance from Manhattan to the port.

Do most cruise lines usually offer bus transfers to JFK post cruise?

You can take a cab to Manhattan from JFK - $45 fixed rate plus tolls and tip. You can book a car service from Manhattan to Cape Liberty - probably in the $75-80 range including tolls and tip. Many folks do this. There are really no hotels that we recommend at JFK.

There are also no transfers back to JFK after the cruise - car services will be $100+.
