Luggage drop of Pacific Pearl wharf 5

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine is going on the Pacific Pearl next Friday, arrives at Airport early and was going to catch a taxi and drop luggage off and go sightseeing, but been told by travel agent to stay at airport and go on P&O bus, thought bit odd as we have always got there early and dropped bags off???? Can anyone please clarify please.

if your friend has not paid a transfer thru p&o they can catch a taxi into wharf 5 but its going to cost approx $50 and they can drop off their luggage about 8.30am.....check in normally starts around 10am and embarkment is about 11.30am and they can have lunch once onboard

Hi Bob,

Is it really up to $50 for a cab from the airport now? I checked the taxis website and they say $35. I suppose a ride in peak hour could be a bit more.

A much cheaper way if your luggage has wheels is to take the Train from the International Terminal and alight at Wynyard and walk over the hill down to Wharf 5 on Hickson Road. Train is around $ 12 Aus per person .

That's true. One year the driver used the expressway and the fare was $10 more.

Bob, I know you don't use this service, but what's the going rate for the ship transfer to the airport these days?

Anna i think princess charges $30 PP but we might be cruising late november so i'll let you know....i wouldnt bother getting the train as its too much of a hassle getting to wharf 5 but from the OPT might be different....here's the link for the train fares http://www.cityrail.info/tickets/fare_calculator.htm;jsessionid=040DCB0021D907A94931456A5B71D82A.node01
