A few questions Carnival vs Royal kids club..

Just a few questions on the kids club.. we loved the fact on Royal they would come and pick up the kids from the dining room (LOVED IT in fact). Does Carnival do that?

Do the kids get a free tee shirt on Carnival, or is that only if they do the show?

Daily Events.. it looks like the AM is free play, and the afternoon is when they do more prog. stuff, is that correct? If you sail both, which kids club do your kids like better?

Dinner and Shows: We have a 6pm dinner (DD likes to eat in the dining room with us) what time is the early dinner show at? From what I see online it looks like its after 10? Which is when the kids club is extra hours correct?

We are doing the Mexican Baja Cruise, out of Long Beach - Monday to Friday.

Is there anything else I need to know in advance?

Soda Card - do you pay for M, T, W, T and F? or just M, T, W, T?

Side topic- do all the rooms come with bathrobes?

Thanks!

Sounds like you are doing the four-day on the Paradise or Inspiration.

You will pay for 4 days M-Th, but if you decide not to buy it until Tuesday you will not have to pay for Monday. Buy it after the ship pulls out of port to save some $ on the tax.

It is also good for any juices at the bars. Our kids like Shirley Temples and Cherry Coke.

Have not seen the counselors pick up the kids but I have seen part of the buffet roped off for dinner for some of the age groups.

LOL ya but chances are we will drink more soda on day 1 then the last day! ;)

Is diner in the kids club free or do you have to pay for it? Do they order of a menu?

Thx!

There is a kids menu in the MDR-- Burgers, pizza, mac n cheese, chicken tenders, Ice Cream Sundaes etc Kids can order off the adult menu and more importantly, adults can order off the kids menu.:)

In the buffet they use one side and seem to have only one choice for the kids each night ie- tenders and fries. They used to have veggies as well but they didn't seem to ever be touched.;)

It's included in your cruise fare. DDtheteenager thinks this is for the 6-8yo group only. Hopefully someone will chime in and let you know.

The only paid extras will be marked. The only things I can think of are after hours group babysitting and a build-a-bear type activity.

Kids older than 9 can sign themselves in and out. If the permission is not given they cannot do things like scavenger hunts.

No they don't pick them up in the MDR because they have kid dinners every night at the Lido deck buffet for the camp kids. Kids club dinners are FREE. :D The menu for the KIDS CLUB MEALS CHANGES each night - if you look at some samples of kids club pages below - you can see that it does list what the menu for each kids club buffet is.

Yes, my kids came home with Carnival t-shirts AND backpacks from the kids camp. It was included - we didn't pay extra for it.

I am also posting the MDR menu for the kids. They obviously can eat off the adult menu as well.

After 10pm

New Night Owls Program for Kids

Camp Carnival Night Owls – featuring fun-filled children's parties offering a full schedule of late-night activities and premium giveaways, along with nightly babysitting services – is being rolled out on all 23 Carnival Cruise Lines ships.

Perfect for when parents want some much-needed "us" time, Night Owls further bolsters Carnival's distinction as the leader in family cruising, with complimentary children's programs for three age groups catering to the 670,000 children who sail with the line annually.

Conducted in the children's play rooms, three different Night Owls parties are held at least once each voyage, all under the direction of the line's highly-trained and enthusiastic youth staff.

In addition to loads of age-appropriate fun – from video game tournaments and arts and crafts to sporting events and late-night movies and pizza parties – kids participating in the Night Owls festivities are provided with premium giveaways that may include specially-branded plush toys, flashlights, watches and other items. Late-night munchies and refreshments are also provided. Night Owls parties are available in three different age groups, including:

  • Owl Jams – a night of high-energy fun that runs from 10 p.m. to midnight and aimed at two- to 11-year-olds. Cost is $13 per child plus gratuity.
  • Fun 'Til One – this action-packed night caters to six- to eight-year-olds and takes place from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cost is $20 per child plus gratuity.
  • Fun at Sea…'Til 3:00 – aimed at kids ages nine to 11, this late-night extravaganza offers activities throughout the ship and runs from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Participants are escorted to their staterooms after the party. Cost is $33 per child plus gratuity.

The Night Owls program also includes a revamped babysitting program. Designed as a fun-filled slumber party at sea, babysitting is available nightly from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. at a cost of $6.75 per child per hour plus gratuity. Kids can enjoy a variety of activities, with complimentary pillows and blankets provided, along with light snacks and refreshments.

Night Owls is just the latest addition to the line's top-rated Camp Carnival program that offers a full schedule of supervised activities from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day, all available on a complimentary basis.

Carnival also offers its popular programs for young teens and teens with Circle "C" and Club O2, catering to 12-14-year olds and 15-17 year olds, respectively. Each of these programs offers spacious and modern facilities for their respective age groups with a dance floor, DJ and plasma TVs – the perfect spot for chillin' and making new friends.

How old is Miss Em? I am trying to track down any Baja pages for you. I know I don't have any current ones.

To answer you questin, no, its not like RCI where you get the pages each night on your bed. You actually get them as soon as you board (or register) and they are all in one caper - for the entire cruise.

Here are some current activities for CCL - but this isn't your Baja itinerary. This is actually the pages that Carnival provides on their site so it takes a minute to display.

Here are the 2-5's

Here are the 6-8's

And the 9 - 11's

Michele - do you have the capers for Carnival Liberty Eastern (HMC, San Juan, St Thomas and Grand Turk) for 9-11 and 12-14 age group. I will have a child in each and from what I understand the schedules are completely different for the 12-14 group.

I don't have Carnival Liberty but you are welcome to look around at what I do have....basically, the activities don't change that much.

And Carnival has this for for the 12 - 14's listed for 2011 as an example...

Do you want me to email you my AO pages from the LOS TA? I only have ages three to five.

Yes please! You can send them to crusinmama06@comcast.net and I will upload them!

Thanks! :D

the funny thing is I only sent you the link! LOL I was too lazy, I wanted to know if you could nap them, so much faster for me!

:D

Hmmmm, then I have NO idea what happened. That email is up and running - as long as you spelled crusinmama06 the same as my screen name - without the "I' in cruise - then it should work.

Either way, I got them. :D
