Majkman Posted August 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2011 I can't seem to find the original post about this discussion from a few days ago, but I had a question about it anyway. Someone was asking if the Upgrade Fairy named Ozzy visited them and gave them a choice in remaining on their balcony or moving to a window suite, would they move. A lot of responses were to move to the suite where they can take advantage of the additional perks. So my question would be of the what additional perks are there in a mini-suite that aren't included in the balcony? Could be useful information should Ozzy visit us in the next 7 days!:p Have a GREAT day, Andy
Pam in CA Posted August 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2011 The only perk with a mini-suite is a glass of champagne at sailaway although you get the sitting area, 2nd TV, larger bathroom and tub/shower which is what makes a mini-suite a mini-suite. A window suite is a full suite and comes with the full suite perks.

Svanny Posted August 14, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 14, 2011 Wow, even with ALL that the full suite has to offer, I NEED a balcony! That is one of my favorite parts of the cruise! I love to sit out and watch the ocean roll by in the comfort of my own room. BUT that is just MY humble take on it.
Go-Bucks! Posted August 14, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2011 Wow, even with ALL that the full suite has to offer, I NEED a balcony! That is one of my favorite parts of the cruise! I love to sit out and watch the ocean roll by in the comfort of my own room. BUT that is just MY humble take on it. Me too on cruises where I'll really use a balcony. But my last cruise was chilly weather so we opted for the Window Suite (which was cheaper than a minisuite) so we could enjoy all those wonderful perks. And they WERE wonderful!! And the 2 windows are huge and being on deck 6 puts you close to the water, so the view is great. So for me it depends on how much use the balcony will get. If it's warm weather then I prefer having a balcony.
itzmered Posted August 14, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 14, 2011 We really enjoy our balcony and actually used it more in Alaska than we have in the Caribbean. Whale watching and scenery watching on the balcony the majority of each day unless in port

That's when the suite perks are more enjoyable than sitting on the balcony, IMHO.
