Best way to get from Marseille to Aix en Provence

We will be on the Carnival Magic and would like to go from Marseille to Aix en Provence by either bus or train. What is the best option and best way to get to the train/bus station?

there are 3 different shuttle bus routes:

the train takes 45 mins one way.

Be sure to take bus Line 50, which goes along the motorway and takes half an hour (there is also a slow bus service, Line 51, which stops at local towns along the way).

How far is it rom the port to the bus station? Can you walk, or would it be better to get a taxi?

It's definitely walkable, but some folks from our ship got lost. I don't know how. Bring a map along just in case. :)

I found it an easy walk, and quite enjoyable seeing a part of the Marseille business area, which was not seedy at all, just downtown city streets.

Would a taxi actually take us to the station if we got in one at the port or would they think we were being lazy due to the proximity of the port to the bus station?

 

Anyone went by Taxi to Aix and know the cost?
