English_in_Spain Posted August 18, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2011 I always ask to pay in USD and let my bank do the conversion. I find we getter better exchange rate that way.
Pushka Posted August 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2011 I imagine the Bank will give a better exchange rate than RCI! So go with USD.
Frankmac Posted August 18, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2011 From experience definitely pay in the currency of your credit card. You will get a better rate. Incidentally twice I asked for this option but RCI still gave me my bill the other way. Had to have it rectified at customer service.
Rare steamboats Posted August 18, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2011 I always pay in USD and let my bank do the exchange. RCI is claiming another 3% extra for the exchange and then is charging my credit card out of Miami. Because of this my bank does not accept this as a purchase within Euro-countries and I have to pay another 1.75% foreign transaction fee. So letting RCI do the exchange is costing me 3% more. steamboats
