Hi.. Im surprising my husand with a cruise on the Epic for his 40th bday.. I am not a creative person and I need some ideas on how to surprise him.. thanks!:)

What fun! I would tell my husband we were going to Florida for his birthday. That way he is packing for warm weather. Go as far as you can with without telling. I have a friend who was taken as far as port everglades, and then was told.

 

Or, at home, you can gift wrap some cruise items, such as lotion, a bathsuit, etc, including a picture of the ship. :)

I could see doing that - the closest port for us is Baltimore which isn't all that far from BWI. I could see telling DW that we were flying down to Florida and then end up at the cruise port instead.

 

Except that I'm very bad at keeping secrets... Plus packing a tux for a Florida trip might tip my hand.

Thanks for the ideas! The cruise isnt till a few months after his bday so he can do his own packing..lol Im also throwing him s surprise party with some friends and give him his gift there.. I like the idea of the small gifts that are related to the cruise but I know he will figure it out quickly.. I want him to have to think for awhile.. no fun if he guess right away... lol

any other ideas??

You could give a series of numbered gifts - 1. a tropical shirt, 2. a small pair of binoculars, 3. a new carry-on bag - all which may suggest travel, but don't directly point to a cruise. Make the final gift be his cruise documents.

Thats good too. I was thinking if you flew down a day before, the morning of the cruise you would have to say you were taking a taxi to a different hotel because the one you are was only aavilble for one night. You could still give him gifts, maybe the air tickets to Florida last. He will still think Florida is the destination. Till you get to the ship...OH, when you get into the taxi to go to port, blindfold him! hehe

Is it possible to arrange the time off for him without him knowing? Can you then pack for him? Maybe leave the evening before the cruise (always good idea) and pick him up at work and go.
