Hypo Posted August 30, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2011 Can I bring a small fan and extension cord on the Freedom of the Seas? Thank You. No, they will confiscate your extension cord. If you have a medical need for the fan, you should get a letter from your doctor and the ship should supply you with an approved extension cord. So I can plug my cameras and such in to charge....
mckinna Posted August 30, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2011 We've always brought a fan. DH can't sleep without one. And we've always brought an extension cord and power strip. That being said, there have been several reports on here about these things being confiscated, but we've never had that happen. It's not easy putting a fan on the nightstand with the way the outlets are positioned in the cabins.
Rare lv2cruisgrl Posted August 30, 2011 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2011 I know people that have had their power strip taken away, they say the plug is a hazard....so its a gamble.
masonpips Posted August 30, 2011 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2011 If you want it for noise, check into a sound machine. We bought one years ago and never looked back! Just search and the round ones are the best!
hammydo Posted August 31, 2011 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2011 Last year we bought a battery fan off Loew's website. Probably can get other places. Worked great-batteries lasted for 7 day cruise. No problem getting on board or having in room.
struther1 Posted August 31, 2011 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2011 We have brought a fan and a power strip on all our cruises and have never had either taken away but reading these posts makes me think we have just been lucky.
PSCruiser Posted August 31, 2011 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2011 I bring a small fan evry cruise - called O2cool, from Walmart, has a recharge so can go with or without plug in. If a small extension cord is packed with thought, it will look like it belongs with the razor, etc. on xray.
Bubbis3 Posted August 31, 2011 #10 Share Posted August 31, 2011 My mother has brought a fan on every cruise we've been on with RCI. It shouldn't be a problem. However, we never tried bring an extension cord. Good Luck. I've never brought extension cords - don't know where the plugs would be located but I wouldn't want us tripping over it at night.
