dockgirl Posted September 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2011 First time on half moon cay, booked a cabana for the day. From other forums have read you can also order lunch to the cabana rather than going to the buffet, has anyone experienced this. Thanks dockgirl
CapsR1 Posted September 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Even if you could order lunch, you would probably want to walk over to the buffet to view the assortment of food options for yourself.
DocF Posted September 6, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Even if you could order lunch, you would probably want to walk over to the buffet to view the assortment of food options for yourself. For us, a major part of the fun of Half Moon Cay is going over to grab a burger or two and sitting in the picnic area, usually with people we have never met before. 1. The food tastes better on the island, for some reason. 2. The waiters and cooks seem to enjoy all the hard work involved in moving operations to the island. 3. This is a great environment for a picnic. (I am even less of a picnic person than I am a beach person.) Go join the gang and enjoy. Doc:D
SANDYJABS Posted September 6, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2011 I think the lunch option you refer to is offered to HAL pax when they use HMC it is a cabana with a butler but I could be wrong. HMC has changed a lot since I was there last.
Smithkids5521 Posted September 6, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 6, 2011 Maybe you are thinking of the cabanas at Grand Turk? You have your own waiter/waitress in the cabanas and can order lunch from Margaritaville... Or if you are thinking of HMC, perhaps you were reading about the Grand Oasis Cabana (or whatever the right name of it it...:p).

elcuchio24 Posted September 7, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 7, 2011 Ya, it's more fun to go to the food hut yourself, reminds you of big picnic lunches from school!
K&RCurt Posted September 7, 2011 #9 Share Posted September 7, 2011 If you are sailing on HAL the cabana attendant can bring you lunch. I guess that is not done when a Carnival ship visits HMC. I, myself, would just go to the buffet and get my own lunch.

Drinks made from house brand liquor, all beers, soft drinks, bottled water and wine. - A picnic lunch consisting of appetizer, entree, and dessert. - Butler escort from your cabin to assist you ashore carrying all belongings to and from the ship. - Your Butler will see to whatever needs you have on the island including shopping from the island shops and any Shore Excursions bookings you may like to make on Half Moon Cay.
