First time on half moon cay, booked a cabana for the day. From other forums have read you can also order lunch to the cabana rather than going to the buffet, has anyone experienced this. Thanks dockgirl

For us, a major part of the fun of Half Moon Cay is going over to grab a burger or two and sitting in the picnic area, usually with people we have never met before.

 

1. The food tastes better on the island, for some reason.

 

2. The waiters and cooks seem to enjoy all the hard work involved in moving operations to the island.

 

3. This is a great environment for a picnic. (I am even less of a picnic person than I am a beach person.)

 

Go join the gang and enjoy.

I think the lunch option you refer to is offered to HAL pax when they use HMC it is a cabana with a butler but I could be wrong. HMC has changed a lot since I was there last.

Maybe you are thinking of the cabanas at Grand Turk? You have your own waiter/waitress in the cabanas and can order lunch from Margaritaville...

 

Or if you are thinking of HMC, perhaps you were reading about the Grand Oasis Cabana (or whatever the right name of it it...:p).

If you are sailing on HAL the cabana attendant can bring you lunch.

 

I guess that is not done when a Carnival ship visits HMC.

 

I, myself, would just go to the buffet and get my own lunch.

To us the food on HMC was very good -- the best we've had on any of the cruise line private islands! :)
