cakewoman Posted September 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2011 I have a 16 year old son going on his first cruise with me(mom) and his 12 year old brother Sept 17 and I found out he needs a state issued ID and I was going to get him one today at the DMV and they told me it would be shipped in 15-20 days.:( Hummmmmm that won't work since we only have 7 days. After stressing out, crying, and yelling at my family and calling homeland security(they didn't help) and carnival found out he can use a high school ID. Well his says 2010-11 and his school hasn't done this years one yet. So please tell me if he can use that one. Thanks SB

jbanana1 Posted September 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2011 I would think last years school id would be fine since it is mainly to have a "picture" id in addition to the bc or passport.
B and C Blake Posted September 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2011 OP here is the response from CCL STAFF for you .... A goverment issued photo id is required for all guest 16 and over. The state should be able to issue a state ID that is what I did for my nephew when he lived with me. If you want to email me the information about the school ID I will check with embarkation and try and verify if the last years id would be accepted or not. I may not have an answer until Monday. CCLSUPPORT@CARNIVAL.COM i hope all works out. Mary Ruiz Online Community Specialist Carnival Cruise Lines Staff

cbCRR Posted September 10, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 10, 2011 We're cruising on 9/17 as well. I was putting together all the documents this evening and asked DD to make sure she has her permit in her travel wallet. She said "uh, I can't find my permit"! Guess we're headed to the DMV tomorrow morning at 7:30a to get a replacement.
