Stay i n Long Beach, sail from San Pedro?

I agree. That is a horrible day to be anywhere near LAX, and also the drive from Las Vegas through the Riverside & eastern LA county area can be horrible on that day. I would seriously consider driving over on Tuesday evening instead of Wednesday AM. This would help you avoid the worst of the traffic and assure that you make it in time.

The drive from Las Vegas on holiday weekends can be significantly delayed easily by just one wreck, or by flash flooding if there is rain. Plan on 5-6 hours minimum to drive to LAX from Las Vegas. Give yourself at least 45 minutes to turn in your car, and another hour by shuttle or cab to get to San Pedro.

Hello,

I just stumbled upon this thread because I saw the words "Long Beach".

Thought I'd add my 2 cents, regarding the neighborhood.

I lived in Long Beach for many yrs...

So coming from an old local, I say that the Seaport Village area is nice.

Otherwise the entire downtown area is a hazardous area to be around.

The large hotels in the Seaport Village area would be fairly safe, otherwise stay across the bridge in San Pedro.

I would give at least 1 hour to get from San Pedro to LAX, on a GOOD day...that is not including car drop off.

The day before Thanksgiving would be on the list of REALLY BAD days.

Best of Luck, and enjoy your cruise!
