misty miller Posted September 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2011 We have booked a porthole stateroom with Carnival (E1) on a 5 night western Caribbean itinerary. It is an early booking, thus cheaper. My hubby and I wanted to go this way for our first cruise in case the cruise experience wasn't for us. I have read here that some porthole staterooms have upper/lower berths instead of twins to be pushed together. Please say it ain't so!

We were on the Riviera Deck starboard side on the Paradise in October 2009 and we had the beds put together. We were the last cabin towards the back that had a porthole, I think the ones farther forward had the uppers/lowers.
Rare Essiesmom Posted November 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2011 Only category 1A cabins have upper and lower bunks, and they are all insides. Your category is PT. If the beds cannot be put together, it will clearly indicate that on the deck plans. EM
Roswell_IcePrincess Posted November 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2011 I had a porthole on the Imagination and was impressed with it. It was my first inside cabin and I was very nervous. I thought our room was a little larger than other insides without the porthole. The beds are to die for, so comfortable.
