Statendam lower promenade

Planning a 2012 Panama canal cruise. Looking at obstructed view cabin on lower promenade middle or stern of ship. Anyone had cabins ob view or other that had any noise problems from above deck?

No noise problems, except from the connecting room next door, never again. I did learn that I hated an outside cabin on the LP deck because it is somewhat smaller than other cabins.

 

Good luck, and enjoy your cruise. You'll be able to get outside very quickly to see the sights.

We've had L.P. DD cabins on the Statendam, Ryndam, and Amsterdam, and will have a L.P. D in 3 weeks on the Veendam. We've learned to NOT book one under the noisy galley! Other than that, we like them. :)

We have cruised 3 times on LP of Statendam and had no problems. I would not want to be under the galley. My sister and her husband like to be close to the laundry and book same cabin every time not us....to busy for me. I perfer midship. You will like the ship. Have a fantastic time.

On the Ryndam (a sister to the Statendam) a friend was in a 37x cabin and found the overhead noise in the early hours (4:00 am and on) very annoying. I was in a 39x on the Ryndam (under the MDR) and had no noise problems at all.
