Jim Avery Posted September 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2011 Just saw a SD email to travel agents with rates and under amenities was listed: "SeaDream's Signature Shaken not Stirred . I do not find any reference to this on the SD website. Any guesses out there? For what it is worth, in the Bond books (at least those written by Ian Fleming) the martini was "stirred, not shaken".
fpebbles Posted September 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2011 I believe that's the "caviar splash" when it's held on deck. The trademarked name for the martini and caviar party. I'll take any SD party right now....
CDreamer Posted September 20, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2011 I believe that's the "caviar splash" when it's held on deck. The trademarked name for the martini and caviar party. I think you may be right, fpebbles.... though I DO have some incriminating pics of a special unnamed crew member cannonballing into the pool after popping open a bottle of the bubbly to start off our on deck "Splash" party last year! :D Maybe SD decided it might be a bit too dangerous to dive into the pool with bottle in hand and has reverted to a safer 'shaker' version for the deck parties instead? Hey, I'm not picky.... as long as they keep my glass full, either way works for me! ;)
Jim Avery Posted September 20, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted September 20, 2011 I knew the "Champagne & Caviar Splash" had been reserved but this was a new one on me. I agree, just keep it coming and call it anything you want.:D
