Rome on train from port

Do the trains operate on Sundays from cittavechia to Rome and has anyone a link to a timetable please? would be grateful for any info on this and doing 'Rome on your own' ,thanks ,we are travelling on oct.9.

Yes they do, go to http://www.trenitalia.com, click the English link at the top to see the results in English. Enter Civitavecchia in the From and Roma Termini (assuming that is where you want to go) in the To and select 25/09/11 for the date (this Sunday) to get an idea of the schedule and pricing.

Take the free port shuttle to the gates and walk along the shore road until you hit the station - it is about a mile.

Most visitors to Rome have no need to go through the hassle at Termini; you can reach most sites faster and easier using one of the other stations in Rome.

We used his instructions last year and it was a breeze. The Civitavecchia train station is a short walk from the entrance to the cruise port.
