Got some more questions - on the Gem in a few weeks to Bermuda...

  • Is the coffee good?
  • Are there production shows every night?
  • Where can we see menus of MDR and copies of Bar Menus?
  • What are the "happening" clubs in the evening?
  • How causal is "casual"? Do many guys wear slacks in the evening? Shorts? Jeans??
  • What do ladies wear in the evenings? Shorts? Capris? Sun dresses?
  • Is there a way to iron your clothes? Laundromat?
  • Is the iced-tea freshly brewed, or the kind out of a machine?
  • What breakfast drinks are no charge?

Thanks!!!!!!!!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but my other half says it's good on the GEM. There is also a coffee bar where you can purchase specialty coffees in the atrium area.

There will be production shows each evening, check the Freestyle daily's for more details on those.

You'll find different types of music in the lounges, as well as games and other entertainment.

People will be dressed in all different styles. Usually there is one main dining room that allows shorts, and another that is a bit more formal and requires jeans or slacks. The buffet and Blue Lagoon do not have dress codes really....other than shoes and no swimwear. There is an optional formal night where some will really dress up, and others will still wear shorts/jeans.

There is no self service laundromat on the ship, but you can request an iron from your cabin steward and they will bring it for you, and take it away when your done. I like the downy wrinkle release spray stuff myself.

I'm not an iced tea drinker, but it does come out of a machine. It is available in the buffet during the day and evening.

In the morning you can get milk, chocolate milk, coffee, oj, apple juice, and usually cranberry juice. If your looking for juice in the afternoon check out the kids buffet area....you might just find some juice there.

Thanks! And I think I read that there are coffee makers in the balcony cabins...true?

There should be, if not just ask your cabin steward for one.

You can also order it from room service. You can put the card out the night before, and they will call before delivering. We usually tip a couple dollars...for coffee, juice and croissants. Nothing like starting your day on your balcony relaxing and watching the water.

  • Is the coffee good?

Not bad, but not Starbucks either

  • Are there production shows every night?

Not every night but if there is not a production show there will be a juggler, magician or some other entertainment.

  • Where can we see menus of MDR and copies of Bar Menus?

Use the search here on CC

  • What are the "happening" clubs in the evening?

Not sure about that. Never been on the Gem

  • How causal is "casual"? Do many guys wear slacks in the evening? Shorts? Jeans??

Khakis are fine for dinner. Shorts are fine for the theatre.

  • What do ladies wear in the evenings? Shorts? Capris? Sun dresses?

Sorry, not my department.

  • Is there a way to iron your clothes? Laundromat?

I've heard you can have an iron delivered to your cabin but have never done so. They have an "all you can fit in the bag" laundry special for $25. No self serve laundry.

  • Is the iced-tea freshly brewed, or the kind out of a machine?

Don't know.

  • What breakfast drinks are no charge?

Milk, coffee, tea, apple juice, orange juice, cranberry juice and water of course.

Thanks!!!!!!!!
