Got my room number...any hope?

I have never cruise on HAL before. I have also never done a GTY. I didn't get an e-mail or anything letting me know they assigned my room, but when I checked this evening, I had a number. Does this mean it's set in stone and there is no hope for an upgrade? I leave Oct 2

Yes, there's hope, but not too much! On the Nieuw A we got an assignment at 10 days out which was an upgrade from what we booked and a re-assignment (and further upgrade) at 3 days out. Same for my DB/DSiL.

However, on the Veendam it's even less likely than on a larger ship.

Thanks for the responses!

I did check out my room number, if I'm reading it correctly we are two categories above what I ordered, so now I get a full window instead of a porthole!

I don't really care that much, I'm just excited to get away from work and relax on Bermuda...I was just curious.

Would be nice to hear 'Hey, we couldn't fill our biggest suite, so it's yours!!'

I'm a dreamer, I know :p
