But don't be surprised if it isn't there when you check in. Chances are very slim it will be there, so just ask your cabin steward when you see him/her. Phyljim Posted September 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2011 As Pia said best to just ask room steward when you get on board. We faxed our request for the egg crate topper for several years, it was never there. We just gave it up, just ask as soon as we board.
KruzPrincess Posted September 27, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 27, 2011 Knock on wood.... I've always been lucky enough to get just what I asked for when I faxed my request in. I probably shouldn't say that because now it won't happen on my next cruise. ;)
lilfish7 Posted September 27, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted September 27, 2011 Thank you! I faxed it last time and actually had one already on the bed. Here's hoping for 2 for 2!!
ASeaPrincess1 Posted September 27, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2011 Yep, always had mine in place.........maybe I shouldn't jinx it!
CruisinEars Posted September 27, 2011 #9 Share Posted September 27, 2011 No need to fax, just call Princess and it will be added under the special services.
sonavogel Posted September 27, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 27, 2011 Sorry to be so ignorant about this, but what does the "egg crate" topper do for you? I know that a smooth memory foam 2- or 3-inch topper can firm up a sagging mattress, but isn't an egg crate topper for a different purpose (chiropractic?)? We have requested twin beds for our stateroom, which I guess means they'll just separate the queen into two beds...but why would the mattress(es) benefit from an egg crate topper? Thanks! Best, Sona
CruisinEars Posted September 28, 2011 #11 Share Posted September 28, 2011 Princess is known for having hard beds. The toppers help them be a bit softer. I, for one, cannot sleep on a hard bed. It kills my back and hips, so the topper does make a small difference. I was on the Caribbean in July and we had the topper on, but the bed was really comfortable anyway. So, it really is the luck of the draw when it comes to beds. If you want one, all you need to do is ask your steward. If any are available, they will put it on your bed for you. lilfish7 Posted September 28, 2011 Author #12 Share Posted September 28, 2011 Egg crates just helps make the bed more comfortable. On our last Princess cruise, the Steward actually put the egg crate and then extra blankets on top of the EC, which really made it comfy!
