Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi?

Is this a sight-seeing tour? Or do you use it to get from one spot to another?

 

When we return from our cruise, we will have several hours to kill before our return airport flight. Is there any place to store luggage, besides bringing it on the taxi with us?

You can sure use it as a sightseeing tour. They are really good about showing you all the different things along the way. They will tell you who lives in the houses or used to live in them, and point out some of the yachts and the prices for them. You can get off and on as many times as you want during the day. It takes about 2 and half hours to make the entire route and end up back where you started.

There is no place to store your luggage. Plus, it is kind of short of space on the taxi, so if you did bring your luggage on, it would be in the way.

See if your airline does the luggage express. If so, they will take your bags the night before, and you will not see them until you arrive home.

I think the first taxi starts at 10:00, so it wouldn't do any good to arrive before that.

We do the water taxi everytime we are in FLL and love it.

We will be staying at the Westin, is it far to walk to get a water taxi from there??

The water taxi is a great way to explore Ft. Lauderdale...we are looking forward to doing it again this December

There is a site for the Fort Lauderdale water taxi. It will give you the different routes and times at the various stops. We love the water taxi; it is a great way to see FLL.

Don't plan on taking your luggage with you on the water taxi if moving along the different routes. There's not room and getting on and off at different stops if you want to see some of the areas will be be a challenge. Send your bags ahead to the airport if possible.

Or take one of the regular boat waterfront tours and they'll store your bags for you while you are gone.

if i were to do the watertaxi should i still do the carrie B too or is that redundant. thanks.

If you are doing a water boat tour, then you'll see most everything interesting and get the info. I wouldn't use the water taxi then, except for moving from point a and B and maybe seeing some area not touched upon by the "real" tour. Just my opinion. Not sure waht areas are covered by your tour.

We did the Carrie B. the first year we cruised out of FLL. Since that we have done the Water taxi 4 times. You see most of the same things. I would prefer the water taxi. You can get off and on all you want.
