Lola1210 Posted October 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I have booked an excursion and need to know island time of my arrival and departure. We are arriving at a 7 o'clock and leaving at 4 o'clock. This is Eastern time since we are leaving from Florida. Thanks for your help!
eh2zed Posted October 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2011 Are you sure your times are Eastern. Most cruise lines publish arrival/departure times in local time. Ships clocks usually are at local time.
jmo1 Posted October 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 4, 2011 If your ship stays on EDT (Florida time), then port time is an hour earlier, if your cruise is before Nov. 6 (change to standard time). After Nov. 6, the ship time and Cayman port time will be the same. Carnival usually maintains ship time while visiting other time zones. Some of the other cruise lines change to the local port time. Lola1210 Posted October 5, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted October 5, 2011 It is a Carnival ship out of Florida. The date is March 20th. Thanks for any help! I know that Carnival stays on ship time, but just wants to make sure I tell the tour company the right time. Thanks again!

DST begins March 11, 2012, so your ship will be on EDT, which is an hour later that Cayman local time.
skrufy Posted October 12, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 12, 2011 The tours keep track of the ships arrival times. Just look for your tour guide sign when you leave the ship.

Yes I believe all tour companies are aware of ships time better than any of us do, so they will let you know.
