queenL Posted October 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2011 Have any pregnant cruisers purchased travel or med evac insurance? I typically don't. Now I'm starting to think that maybe I should at least by med evac. Our cruise is in a few weeks so I'm not even sure I could still find a policy but I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to try. SadieN Posted October 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2011 A policy can be found but it will probably be expensive. insuremytrip.com is one place to look.
cb at sea Posted October 11, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Unless you bought your ins. within 2 weeks of booking, you probably can't get "pre-existing conditions" covered... That's why they don't want you to cruise if you're past a certain date....should something happen before the "cut-off", evacuation probably wouldn't help, anyway. kitty9 Posted October 11, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2011 Pregnancy is considered a pre-existing condition, so therefore purchasing insurance will be more difficult and more expensive. There aren't many policies that cover pregnancy in the first place, and adding the pre-existing part will make finding a policy even more tough.
