BluIDblonde Posted April 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2005 I have a friend who is looking to go there and stay for a few days. I know there are several resorts, just can't remember which is considered the best and most luxurious currently.
Fisherlady48 Posted April 3, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2005 You are opening up a volumunous amount of responses. Take a look at this one if you are looking for quiet and romantic. http://www.bucuti.com/ They Hyatt is supposed to be very nice. There is also a Wydham on the island, also very nice and you can get an all inclusive package. And you might want to visit and register this web site: http://www.aruba-bb.com/ You will see lots of discussions on where and what and when is the best in Aruba. I love my little resort only 131 rooms!!
cmjaffe Posted April 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2005 depends, are they looking for Aruba hospitality w/o major chain and crowds Bucutti is the place on Eagle Beach
pcumberl Posted April 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2005 The High Rise area is at Palm Beach - Low Rises at Eagle Beach. They're right next to each other. We had a shore excursion that went to Palm Beach a few weeks ago and were ferried over to Eagle Beach to pick up Wave Runners. There are a few Marriot's over at Palm Beach, IIRC. ~Paul
BluIDblonde Posted April 6, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted April 6, 2005 I know there are waterfront hotels, most placed very closely to one another. I took a guided tour this past January. The guide said there was one hotel (big name) that seemed to be the "best" Does this help at all?
pltag Posted April 7, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2005 They Hyatt is supposed to be very nice.We were in Aruba in February. We started at the far end of the "low rise" area and drank :) our way down as far as the Hyatt. We walked through the Hyatt to catch a cab back to the ship and it seemed very nice. The pool was great!
Tania Posted April 11, 2005 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2005 Rumour has it the the Ritz is buying out the Holiday Inn to put in vacation villas. I guess that would make it the most luxurious:)
Rare hcat Posted April 11, 2005 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2005 The Holiday Inn is old so it would take some upgrading. We like the look pf playa LInda but were told it is mostly time share or condo--very nice property on Palm Beach
Tania Posted April 12, 2005 #9 Share Posted April 12, 2005 hcat...one week at the HOliday Inn convinced us to buy at the Playa Linda in 1991. It's our best holiday purchase!
JessLCH Posted May 24, 2005 #10 Share Posted May 24, 2005 I vote either Hyatt or Radisson. We have stayed at both and loved both.
gammasip Posted May 31, 2005 #11 Share Posted May 31, 2005 We just returned from Aruba and stayed at the Aruba Marriott. It's beautiful and is at the far end of Palm Beach. I don't think you'd be disappointed at either the Marriott, the Radisson, or the Hyatt. Check out their individual websites. Hope this helps. mcboo Posted May 31, 2005 #12 Share Posted May 31, 2005 Radisson and then the Hyatt in that order for me. mcboo:):)
CruiseForever Posted July 21, 2005 #13 Share Posted July 21, 2005 Actually, we like the Renaissance, which is downtown, but has the beach tower slightly away from the other. The prime reason is the "private island" that is`part of the hotel that their boats will take you too.
Arubalisa Posted July 22, 2005 #14 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Hyatt, Radisson or Marriott and you cannot go wrong. Anywhere you stay on the island you will get what you pay for. Ritz Carlton is breaking ground for a new resort this month, but will takes years to complete...
tarheelmjfan Posted July 22, 2005 #15 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Have you visited tripadvisor.com? I always find them a great source, when looking for hotels.
cmd1978 Posted July 23, 2005 #16 Share Posted July 23, 2005 I agree with the hyatt or renaissance votes... the order would depend on personal preference... the hyatt is quieter, right on Palm Beach... "luxorious" atmosphere, fun stuff on the beach, but you have to take a cab (or other transporation) to get away from the small "hotel strip" that is right there... the Renaissance has a bit more action and is in the town.. shopping in the hotel, and all around...
