bdaddyiii Posted October 26, 2011 Author #76 Share Posted October 26, 2011 I forgot to mention that we attended the daily trivia that was always held in the Windjammer Bar. The only problem with the location was some got sea sick the first day and on the second to last night so during the hole cruise the windjammer smelled of vomit. And we attended the 70's Funkalicious Groove party in Dazzles. Day 3 Oct 17th, 2011 Cozumel, Mexico. We arrived in port and found the weather to be cloudy but nice. After breakfast we got of the ship about 8 am to find our excursion on the port next to the vomit ferry as I call it. The trip across to Playa Del Carmen took about 30 minutes. We were met on the pier by our tour guide which took our group to a van for 15 minute ride to Rio Secreto (Amazing Hidden River) enterance. We got out of the van for a short break to use the restroom before boarding the van again for another 15 minutes ride up a bumpy dirt road they call the Mayan Massage. We arrived at the Hidden River were we showered to remove sun screen and put on our wet suits and life jackets. We then walked into the woods to the enterance to the cave were we were blessed by the Mayan Shamen. We then spent 1 hours and 45 minutes in the cave wakling and swimming. It was great. After leaving the cave our guide poured everyone a shot to warm out souls and then we took off the wets suits and ate a small lunch that was provided. Warning, the green salsa is very hot a little dab with do ya. We then went back to the pier in Playa Del Carmen and shopped for about an 1 ½ hours before boarding the vomit ferry back to Cozumel and the ship. I only call the ferry the vomit ferry because if you suffer from motion sickness the ferry has a lot of motion but it is worth the trip. Back on board the SUN we had dinner at the Great Outdoors Cafe for Burgers and Hotdogs. They were great. Nice view and remember washy washy. Lol. After dinner we attended the Show “the Electrifying Elvy Rose” she has a great voice but this was not my kind of show. It seemed that a lot of people enjoyed it though. After the show it was back to the Topsiders for drinks with our new friends. Also in port this day was the Disney Dream, the Carnival Elation, and the Carnival Dream. bdaddyiii Posted October 26, 2011 Author #77 Share Posted October 26, 2011 Day 4 Oct 18th, 2011 Grand Cayman. We pulled into port in Grand Cayman and the weather was great just windy. The captain attempted to have the tender tie to the ship to allow people to tender into port. I had my tender tickets that you must pick up at the Casino. We were waiting for the to call our tender ticket number when the captain announced that the wind was to strong and they he was canceling this port. It was hard to take at first since we were watching the Carnival Valor that was also in port tender it passengers into port. The captain told everyone the Valor had a better location and the wind was not effecting her as bad. Oh well what can you do. A new daily was passed around and we made the best of the situation. We spent the morning drowning our disappointment at the Topsiders Bar. Then at 2 we played the Scavengers hunt with Debbie and Gene. We were the second team finished but the first team finished with everything. It seems that there are only 3 crew members from Canada and they were all on break except the one in the kids area on the front of the boat. It was fun running around the ship meeting people. Debbie and Gene ran into someone else's stateroom to get a signature from the room steward. We went to dinner this evening at Il Adagio. It is a nice restaurant but I will not eat at this one again. The food was bland with little of no flavor. DW wife had the Classic Caesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan, and I forget what dessert was. The dessert on the SUN was great everyday. I had the Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella, and Ossobuco Gremolota. Flavorless main course for both of us. We then attended the Show “SHOUT! The Mod Musical” this show was great and we both really enjoyed it. After the show since we did not enjoy our dinner we went to the Sports Bar and ate again. Then back to the Topsiders for after dinner drinks and socializing. Then the Late night adult comedy of Noddles. This is a funny dude and you must see it. You will be doing the Noodle dance the rest of the week.

bdaddyiii Posted October 26, 2011 Author #82 Share Posted October 26, 2011 Day 5 Oct 19th, 2011 Ocho Rios. Captain bought everyone rum punches from 6 to 7. :-) Up and breakfast. The we found the powder eggs on the buffet not to our liking so we went to the egg/omelet station every morning for a fresh cook egg. The sky's were clear and the water looked calm so everyone was in a really good mood because we were In Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We got off the ship and wondered down town for a little over an hours. The walk down town was an excursion of its own. The Jamaican people sure did want to sell you stuff. Had one try to trade my my a marijuana cigarette for one of her Marlboro lights. We walked quickly away from that person. We made it back to the ship in time to meet out guide for our excursion to the White River for tubing and them to the Bamboo Beach Resort. The drive to the White River was interesting to say the lest and the tubing was very fun. The water guides sung to the group the entire trip down the river. After tubing which took about 1 hour and 30 minutes we went to the Bamboo Beach Club. This is a private beach that is gated to the public. The beach front looked a little crowded but once we sat down and figured out where everything was it was nice. I guide brought us all the rum punch, red stripe beer, or lemon aide we could drink. The food was served tapas still and it was a lot. The food all tasted really good and the food and drinks I mentioned were included. The drinks were strong to say the least. You could purchase a drunken coconut for 5 dollars. That is a fresh coconut that is opened in front of you and the a little rum and a little lemon juice is added. It is a warm drink and I had trouble finishing my. It really needed some ice. The coconut then would be opened so you could eat the fresh coconut. I thought it was a little slimy so I did not eat mine. I ended up drink a lot of red stripe. The beer was really good. Th water was nice and the dancers were good and we enjoyed watching them. One dancer was dancing with a flaming stick. He scared the crap of me when he put the flaming stick down the front of his pants and then pulled it back out and the stick was still on fire. I guess that give a new meaning to the term wienie roast. Lol. After spending the day at the beach resort it was back to the ship. The captain was payig for rum punches for everyone between 6 and 7 that evening. I probably had 12 rum punches this evening. Yep you guessed it we ate at the Garden Cafe. Too much to drink this day so we did not make it the Chocolate Buffet in the Four Season restaurant. However, we insured we tried everthing over the rest of the cruise. Everyone that did make said it was really good. We did make to the Show “ Scotty Cavanaugh” he is a comedian and juggler. He was good and we laughed. budgettravels Posted October 30, 2011 #87 Share Posted October 30, 2011 Just wondering, did you find the lobster dinner? I did the back to backs and this was week2. It was a lot worse week one, but still pretty bad. The Cruise Rewards guy stated we missed the lobster dinners each week. I didn't see them and checking your menus, I still don't see them. Also, the mistakes in the freestyle and inserts was driving me crazy. As well as the one's on the Navigation channel on the TV. You missed showing the sheet for the port shopping presentation and Diamond and Gemstone Seminar. One was held Saturday, October 16 and one was Monday, October 16. Oh wait--October 16 was Sunday! Oh yea, and my free gift for attending was the port map! Whoohoo!
