NOLA Cruise Terminal to Airport

We have yet to book transportation from the cruise terminal to the airport when we return on Nov 5th. Any suggestions on the most economical way? There are 2 adults and 2 teenagers, Carnival's transport seems steep at $36 pp, I was thinking a cab, does anyone know if cabs can be gotten easily at the port?

Cabs are easy and plentiful at the port. And waaay cheaper than $36/person. Plus you go when you want as oppossed to waiting for Carnival's van or bus to fill up.

Very very easy to catch a cab and go (they have plenty of vans that will seat an entire family as well). No problems and no need to pre-book a ride. :)

Cabs have a set fee, I want to think it's $35, plus tip of course. Much cheaper. If you've got a large group or lots of bags, they have vans and minivans at the same price.

Can I make a 10:30am flight out of NOLA? I will be departing Carnival Conquest and would like to know what time I will be allowed off the ship and how long it will take a cab to get to the airport?

I would think it's a bit tight. I think that Carnival recommends a flight no earlier than 11:30.
