Christmas/New Years cruise

This will be our first holiday cruise. Will be on the Wind begining 12/4 till 1/4. Can anyone who has been on a SS holiday cruise, tell us what to expect?

It will be an ordinary (marvelous!) SS cruise with the ship festively decorated for the holidays, a luscious Christmas dinner (and probably a non-denominational religious service led by the Cruise Director or a clergy guest) and a lavish New Year's Eve dinner (probably beginning later than usual) with dancing, running through the midnight hour.

We are on the Sprit Christmas/New Year cruise in the Caribbean so we are expecting (anticipating would be the wrong word ;)) hordes of tiny tots on our cruise, but the Wind itinerary should help to keep the numbers down. We had looked at the Wind cruise but it's been waitlist only since the end of July. We thought the itinerary looked very good and we also thought that it wouldn't attract a lot of families with youngsters.

Or perhaps Josette03 has sailed on a similar Indian Ocean cruise at that time of year and my assumption is incorrect?

 

For the those of us who will be in the Caribbean, well, all we can hope for is an occasional moment of peace and quiet! :p
