Italy heavy flooding this week

La Spezia and the Cinque Terre hit by huge torrential downpours.

On the CT the towns of Monterosso and Vernazza were the hardest hit with local flooding and mudslides. Cars washed out to sea, streets full of mud and water. Monterosso and Vernazza were totally isolated for some days as mudslides also closed the lifeline railway running along the coast .

Any update on Savona? I am freaking out about the weather, I am leaving on a 10 night cruise on November 21. Have the seas been extremely rough?

According to the Italian meteo, this morning on the Ligurian coast the skies are partly cloudy to clear and the sea is almost calm. Forecast for the next few days looks good. Don't freak out! ;)
