Internet on the ships is horrible at best and I wouldn't recommend paying good money to use it. :D

I generally wait until I get to a port to check email, etc.

In Cozumel you can get free Wifi at most bars and if you go to any of the beach clubs, they all have it as well.

As slow as the WiFi is it is still handy for email. It is pretty easy to economize (especially with a laptop) by local caching messages and reading them off-line and them responding off-line and connecting only to send the message queue. Browsing web though is a painful experience. I wouldnot bother with access wither except that as a condition of the time off my employer requires it - but also pays for it.

It may be satellite but it feels like dialup. I once tried to check in for a flight (did not have a seat) and it took me 20 minutes to get through about four screens. Sometimes there will be a daily special but half off on dialup is still dialup.

Personally I think the internet prices are way to high, and the connection is way to slow. I usually find a internet cafe in port, and enjoy some coffee while I post some pictures and check email.

BTW - I do not have a compelling reason to check email, and I kind of enjoy the technology break. YMMV

This is a mistake in RC's info. Macs work just fine, it does not have to be Windows.
