New Shower Gel & Soaps?

meff gave a brief report about their recent Zuiderdam cruise and mentioned that in their cabin there was a mint shower gel and citrus soaps.

We didn't have them on our recent cruises.

Has anyone else had these new products?

Is so - what ships?

Were they in a suite? Maybe upgraded bathroom amenities were provided. Mint and citrus, huh? Well, at least the ship will smell like the Caribbean!

We were in Verandah and inside cabins on the Zuiderdam, and we all had them. Actually they provided a source of amusement for us. Upon filling out the comment cards at the end of the cruise DB noticed that they had one question regarding service in the dining room, but three questions about the new soaps.:rolleyes:

This would be a great addition if they did this:) but I can tell you they definitely did not have it just a few weeks ago on the Westerdam.

 

On the last few comment cards at the end of the cruise this had been a recommendations of mine.

They were not available in a Suite on the Volendam last week - it was the same old stuff they've had for a few years in the bottles with the light blue tops.

We did not have them in the Suites on Maasdam, Rotterdam, or Veendam. Our last time on Zuiderdam was October and they were not in those Suites at that time.

We didn't have in our suite on the Oosterdam either. There wasn't even any shower gel provided. I was disapppointed with the bath amenities as compared to other cruise. Maybe they're trying something new!

They weren't on the Zaandam either as of March 25. Sounds as though this is a "test" for one ship.

 

A question to the cruisers that used these new products, did you enjoy them???:cool:

I hope they keep testing the toiletries on the Zuiderdam through the end of July when we sail. I must confess...I'm getting my hopes up that maybe they are upgrading her earlier than expected. I am still hoping for the new bedding in my SS cabin!

I'll ask DW what she thought of them. Personally, it doesn't make much difference to me, but I'm just a typical guy.;)

Orcrone - thanks for responding about the new toiletries on the Zuiderdam. We didn't have them on our 20 days on the Volendam.

Husband has alergies and has never had a problem with HAL's Royal Dutch toiletries.

But it sounds like I will have to pack shampoo and soaps for him - for the first time in years!!!!!
