Cmac3 Posted November 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2011 We would love to cruise for our honeymoon during the week of March 10-18. We are on a limited budget of $2,000 total which would include transportation and any shore excursions. We live in Virginia so all airfares or driving to the port need to be minimal. Any ideas or is this unrealistic?
trish1c Posted November 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2011 CC rules prohibit recommendations of specfic travel agencies but all of the big on line sites let you search by port of departure. While I didn't find anything out of Norfolk, I did find several leaving from Baltimore, MD & Charleston, SC. Can you drive to either of those? That's for an inside cabin but you can get an outside for $799.00 per person. Ports you can do on your own so you don't need to spend money on excursions. Ship is Enchantment of the Seas. Go to the RCI web site to look at the itinerary and see if this works. If you go to Florida you have to fly. If you go to NYC/New Jersey you have extra costs. Other option is Carnival Pride out of Baltimore. Seven night cruise and leaves on March 11 and returns March 18. Go to the Carnival web site. Then compare the two. If you need to spend the night pre-cruise try and find a hotel that will let you park for your car for free or a minimal charge. You could also hint for Christmas, birthday and wedding gifts like onboard credit, spa treatments or bottles of wine.
