Bottled water on Mariner?

We took both soda and water on Mariner - twice.

We pack the water in double ziploc bags and checked it through with the luggage in a duffel bag. The sodas (I took diet Dr Pepper since it is not readily available onboard) we again packaged in ziploc bags and split between our carry-ons. We've never had a problem.

Once onboard, we have the room steward take the ship's water and drinks out of the cool-box and put in ours.

Happy Cruising!

Will be boarding Mariner in a week. Can I bring on some bottled water or soda?

The legal answer is no--however, it depends on the security people at each port. Last year security was very tight out of Galveston. I would try it in carry on--unless you want to wait for 2 hours in the naughty room to get your luggage back.

The port of Galveston is a little stricter than most. I would suggest putting a few bottles in carry-ons and then adding to it in port. Also, you can always refill your empty bottles onboard. The tap water is created by reverse osmosis, I think, and is quite drinkable....I'm picky about water and I think the tap water tastes fine.

Mariner of the Seas environmental officer told us on the All Access Tour that black water is treated to be 99% drinkable.

Humm. Do you think??????? Naww. ;)

I'm hoping the answer is NO!:eek::eek:
