Reflection construction photos

Does anyone have links to sites that post photos of the Reflection while under construction? I've see many of the Silhouette when she was under construction and found them fascinating. Since I'm booked on the Reflection's 2nd cruise, I'd like to watch the progress on her.

Thanks!

You might want to check the ship builder Meyerwerft's website. I'm sure they will post additional information as the ship progresses:

There is also an "everything Reflections" (sic.) thread on the X board that you can subscribe to. I'm watching with interest too as we are booked on Reflection in 2/13. People think I'm nuts to book a trip on a ship that's not even built yet!

Hi 1959

Someone said that on the web cam behind Disney F is the Reflections on the web cam at Meyer Werft. When contacted they said that as soon as Disney is out we will be able to watch Reflections being built like the other ones. It looks pretty well along now. Thanks for the update.

What I was hoping for is a link to a collection of photos that are much higher quality and size, as seen in these photos of the Silhouette. Someone takes these photos and they probably post them somewhere. I'm trying to find out where.

Yes, basically Reflection is being built next to the Disney ship and there really isn't much to see. Prior to the Disney Fantasy being in that dock, the Silhoutette was being built with Fantasy in the background.

There is a poster Andreas Depping who has access to the shipyard and takes photos when he can, at some point he will probably post pictures and they will be extensive. He does a great job. Here is a link to some of his work on the Silhouette.

The only photo so far does come from Meyer Werft and that is of the keel laying...

Those images were posted by MeyerWerft as the Celebrity Silhouette progressed through her construction. The same will happen with the Celebrity Reflection. And when MeyerWerft posts them, they will most definitely appear in the thread I linked above. :D

It wasn't MW who posted those photos, it was Andreas....

The first and fourth images of Celebrity Silhouette from above I distinctly remember seeing on the MeyeWerft site.

Here are the links:

The third image was also on MW website similar to this but further along in the construction:

They only showed a few pictures, Andreas had hundreds, believe that is what the OP was asking about...

Those pictures taken by Andreas Depping are great, but from what I have seen are restricted to those he can take from either the Visitors Center observation viewing window or as the ship is floated out.

For the OP here is a link to his site:

The best construction pictures are the ones posted by MeyerWerft in the Press Photos section of their website. They are taken from extreme corners, or are detailed close ups taken from within the builders shed itself.

Sorry but I totally disagree, meyer werft only puts out a few pictures, Andreas does hundreds and is not limited, he is inside rooms and just about everywhere on the ship. As I said, I believe Andreas web site is the one the OP was looking for because his description matched it. He usually gets access several times and takes hundreds of pictures each time..He has done this for all of the S class ships.

You might be both correct. I grew up playing with Erector Sets and Tinker Toys and am fascinated with how things are put together. I find the photos of the construction process fascinating, in great part because they show how complex the parts and superstructers of these ships are and how clever and resourcful humans can be in putting them together. I can't get enough of these progress photos, and am especially interested in the Reflection since we will be on her 2nd cruise - virtually on a brand new ship!

I also enjoy the behind the scenes views of the completed ships, which is where Andreas shines. Again, his photos show how talented and skillful the Meyer Werft workforce is, and how beautiful the ships turn out to be. Comparing the skeleton and raw parts shown in the early construction photos to the finished product is a testament to how well these people do this complicated job.

I think you are right. ;)

Andreas Depping does a superb job of capturing the ship post-construction. I truly enjoy his numerous pictures as we see the finished results of MeyerWerft's craftsmanship. His pictures taken from the Visitors Center viewing area level, as he put it from "behind a wall of glass", during the actual construction while the ship is still in the assembly hall are wonderful as well.

I also enjoy the unrestricted, in-progress construction pictures of the ship taken by the shipyard from within the actual builders hall as it progresses through various stages of assembly. These pictures, taken from greater elevated heights and from various angles within the builders hall, show off more of the ship than what can be seen from the single level of the Visitors Center gallery.

Since the OP said "Does anyone have links to sites that post photos of the Reflection while under construction?" both sites do have these pictures. Combining the photographs taken by Andreas from the Visitors Center level and the unrestricited pictures taken by the shipyard, we get to see the technological wonder of building a modern day cruise ship.
